Challan stickers debut in Jalandhar

For the first time in the state,challan stickers for vehicles parked in no-parking areas were launched in Jalandhar on Friday under the Police Commissionerate system. Under this system,any vehicle found parked in a prohibited area would be challaned with a sticker.

Deputy Commissioner of Police,Jalandhar,Arun Pal,while releasing this sticker on Friday,informed that the stickers would be pasted on vehicles parked at the wrong places.

The owners of the vehicles will get the challan documents within a day. “If the challan is not be paid within five days of the issuing of the sticker,the challan documents would be presented in the judicial court where the owner of the vehicle may get three months’ imrisonement or heavy fine.”
