Starting Monday,the 12450 Goa Sampark Kranti Express will be available at the Chandigarh railway station as an extension from the Nizamuddin station in Delhi. Former Railways minister Pawan Kumar Bansal will flag off the train from Chandigarh station.
On Saturday and Monday,the train would depart from Chandigarh station at 1.30 am and reach New Delhi at 5.55 am and Nizamuddin at 6. 40 am. Its expected arrival to Madgaon is 3 pm on the next day of its departure.
On its return journey from Madgaon,the train will arrive at Nizamuddin station on Wednesday and Thursday 4.55 pm,while it will depart at 5.25 pm. The train is expected to reach Chandigarh at 11.45 pm after stopping at Delhi,Panipat and Ambala Cantt.
The fare for Madgaon is Rs 4585 for the AC first class,Rs 2,650 for the second class Rs 1,800 for the third class and Rs 695 for sleeper class. The journey from Chandigarh to Madgaon would take around 37 hours and 30 minutes.
Talking to Newsline. Praveen Kumar,Station Superintendent at Chandigarh,said,The train,which will also have a halt at Kota,will attract the passengers going to Rajasthan. Likewise,it will be a good option for people going to Delhi and Gujarat.
The fare to Delhi for the new train in an AC first class coach would be Rs 1165 . It will take around 4 hours and 25 minutes to reach Delhi. The fare of AC second class coach would be 700 and for AC third coach it would be 505. One can travel till Delhi for 190 in the sleeper class. The train will have 20 coaches that will include nine sleeper class,two third AC,one second AC,one first AC and four general coaches and a pantry. Talking to Newsline. Praveen Kumar,Station Superintendent at Chandigarh,said,There is a huge response for the new train as many people from Punjab Haryana and Himachal Pradesh prefer Chandigarh as the boarding station. The train,which will also have a halt at Kota,will attract the passengers going to Rajasthan. Likewise,it will be a good option for people going to Delhi and Gujarat.
