Students of Carmel Convent School have adopted the Rock Garden. With banners and posters, bearing slogans like “Keep our Rock Garden Clean!”,“If trash was made into art,why make it trash again?” and “Carmel at the Rocks!”,the students decorated the Phase III section of the Rock Garden.

The students also got an opportunity to meet Nek Chand, the creator of the Rock Garden, who told them about the history of the garden. The students were quite surprised to discover that the masterpiece was originally just a hobby. “Now that you have adopted this Rock Garden,I expect you to take good care of it.”

Home-cum-Education Secretary Ram Niwas was also present. He said: “With our fundamental rights come the fundamental duties. We always focus on our rights, but never on our duties. That has to change!”
