Almost two weeks after Alok Gupta (27),was shot dead in Canada, his family claims that Canadian police is yet to solve the murder. “I got a call from a Canadian police officer, who said that they have yet to make any breakthrough in the murder case,” said Alok’s father,Harivansh Gupta,a retired Chief Engineer. “The police officer who is probing the case also shared details about the incident.”

Gupta, said that he was surprised to read the statement of Canadian High Commissioner to India,Stuart Beck, who claimed that ‘the murder was not a case of racial crime’. “I wish it is true. But when the police investigators are yet to solve the case, how can it be said that the murder of my son was due to one reason or the other,” he said.

On December 25,Alok Gupta was shot dead while working as a part time employee in a Grocery store in Surrey,Canada. Alok, had moved to Canada in December 2010 and was pursuing his higher studies in finance banking at Kwantlen University.
