First product of Bathinda refinery out in the market
BATHINDA: The first product of Rs 18919-crore HMEL Refinery at Phulokhari village in Bathinda rolled out in the market on Friday in the form of a tanker-load of superior kerosene. The tanker was formally sent to a dealer in Mansa by the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). The HPCL facility in Bathinda is connected with its pumping station inside the refinery through a 28-km long pipeline. The kerosene,it is learnt,had reached the pumping station in the first week of December.
Top leaders to attend BJP meet on Dec 23
JALANDHAR: A galaxy of top BJP leaders will attend the two-day meeting of the party in Jalandhar from December 23. This is for the first time that that partys national level officer bearers will hold a meet in Jalandhar to discuss not only Punjab Assembly polls and elections in four other states,but also the 2014 Lok Sabha election. The meeting will be attended by veteran leader L K Advani,national president Nitin Gadkari,Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj,Mahila Morcha president Smriti Irani,vice-presidents,general secretaries and other leaders.
Jat body says dont vote for Cong
CHANDIGARH: Members of the Akhil Bhartiya Jaat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti on Friday gave a call to the members of the Jat community not to vote for Congress candidates in the Assembly polls. The Samiti is fighting for reservation among the OBC category for jobs in state and central services. Addressing the media,the national president of the Samiti,Yashpal Malik,said: We are waiting for parties to announce their manifestoes and hope that they will announce reservation for Jats in OBCs as an item in their agenda.
