The ongoing Signature Premier “World of 8 International Fashion Tour” made a stopover in Ludhiana on Sunday, with Brazilian fashion designer Emannuelle Junqueira showcasing alongside Indian name,Varun Bahl. “Indian fashion has a lot of tradition and vibrancy. This is my first trip to India and I am very excited to be here,” said Sao Paulo-based Junqueira. She showcased her Spring Summer 2011-12 collection — full of feminine colours such as rose,off-white,lime green and greenish blue that brought alive the theme of Brazilian beaches of the 1930s and 1940s.

Bahl,on the other hand, sought inspiration in French courtly debauchery through a colour palette that ranged from decadent pistachio hues and deep drunken wines to glamorous golds and pure ivory shades. He paid ode to the Indian spirit with lehengas, farshi pajamas and anarkalis. Flowing lengths of tulle, shimmering damasks, and cascading chiffons in majestic jackets and corset-like apparel provided the perfect backdrop to this meeting of two cultures. The gorgeous Miss Brazil Debora Lyra strode in as the showstopper for Junqueira, while Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor wrapped up the show for Bahl.
