With an unprecedented 74 shows of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag running in the multiplexes of the Tricity,the movies creators have reason to rejoice. Following the positive response received on the first day of the release,theaters of the city are expecting huge attendance on the weekend. Most of the shows for the next three days have been booked in advance in most of the multiplexes. The much-anticipated biopic saw a huge response on the first day. On Friday,the occupancy in most of the theaters was 100 per cent. Multiplexes like PVR Elante which have 15 shows of the movie running in has sold more than 75 percent of tickets for the next three days. According to PVR Elante officials,there has been a large amount of corporate and bulk booking for the movie. Talking to the Newsline,Amit Singh,the manager at DT Cinemas said that the audience reaction was very positive. The occupancy on the first day was close to 100 per cent for all the shows and 45 to 50 percent of tickets have been booked in advance for the weekend. We thought that the movie is a bit long and that might work against it. But according to viewers it is so gripping that they never realised when three and a half hours had passed, pointed out Amit. PVR Elante and Centra,which are running a total of 22 shows a day,had 88.9 occupancy on the first day. The occupancy for all the shows after 11 am was 99 per cent. For late night shows,the occupancy on Friday was 70 to 75 percent. But on weekends,especially Saturday,the multiplex is expecting it to be 100 per cent. Piccadily,which is another hot spot for movie buffs,had all the shows running houseful on Friday and 60 per cent booking for Saturday. Fun Cinema,which had 95 per cent occupancy on the first day,had close to 30 per cent of tickets sold for the weekend. Theaters in which the biopic was released on Friday are Fun Cinemas,Chandigarh,BIG Cinemas,Paras Mall,Zirakpur,DT City Centre,Chandigarh,Wave,City Emporium Mall,Piccadily Square,Chandigarh,Fame Cinemas,Panchkula,PVR Centra,and Suraj Theatre. The show timings will be from 9.30 am to 11. 40 pm.
