Youth Akali Dal (YAD) president Simarjit Singh Bains has refused to pull out from the 2012 Assembly elections race as an Independent candidate from Atam Nagar, even after SAD threatened that his brother Balwinder Bains will not be allowed to contest as a party candidate in the January 30 polls. Balwinder has a SAD ticket from Ludhiana South. The party is supreme and can decide whatever it wants. But I have always followed what I had decided. My brother is ready for any decision the party takes. We are one family and politics has not come in between our relationship, said Simarjit. Asked whether he went to Chandigarh after he was called by the SAD president,he said: I never went. In fact,Balwant Singh Ramoowalia came to me. Itwas never an official meeting. I have decided to contest from Atam Nagar on public demand. After the results, every one will come to know that it does not matter whether a candidate is with or without a party, what matters is that he is the candidate of the peoples choice. He added: I went to jail (in the tehsildaar B S Benipal beating case) without any fault of mine. I obeyed every party decision, but if they ask me to leave Atam Nagar, this will never happen. Meanwhile,Punjab Pradesh Aggarwal Sabha has also opposed SADs decision of to field cabinet Minister Hira Singh Gabria from Atam Nagar. Sabha president Amrit Lal Aggarwal said,If Gabrias name is not withdraw by January 1,we may withdraw our support to SAD. They have not accepted our demand to give 10 seats to Aggarwals.
