Hosts Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy lifted the inaugural Blue Chilly Cup Cricket Tournament after defeating Mohali Cricket Academy by six wickets in the 50-over-each-side final played at the St Stephen's School ground in Sector 45 on Saturday. A brilliant unbeaten knock of 74 by Gaurav Singh set the momentum for the winning team as DP Azad Academy overtook the MCA total of 212 in 46.1 overs by replying with 216 for 4 in 46.3 overs. Garuav was associated in a 95-run partnership for the fourth wicket with opener Karan Aggarwal. Gaurav's outstanding knock was studded with seven fours and five sixes. He faced 45 deliveries. Karan Aggarwal executed seven well-timed boundaries. Karan Aggarwal was also associated in a 45-run partnership with Karandev Chauhan (19) for the third wicket. Talwinderjit Singh Senior contributed 19. Singh smashed tow boundaries and a six. For the losing side,right arm off-spinner Jagteshwar (2 for 18) and Jassinder Singh (1 for 38) were their main wicket-takers. Earlier,DP Azad Cricket Academy won the toss and asked MCA to bat first. Opener Kinderpreet Singh played a good knock of 86 which was laced with seven fours and two sixes. Amritpal (23),Shivam Puri (26) and Jagteshwar (20) were their other main scorers. Medium pacers Jagpreet Singh (3 for 63),Gaurav Singh (2 for 21) and Shubham Gaur (2 for 39) shared the wickets for DP Azad Cricket Academy. Gaurav Singh was adjudged the Man of the Match. Karan Aggarwal (DPACA),Jassinder Singh (MCA) and Talwinderjit Singh Senior (DPACA) were declared the best batsman,the best bowler and the best all-rounder of the tournament.
