Avalanche kills 2 Rohtang tunnel workers

Two employees working with the company engaged in construction of the strategic all-weather Rohtang Tunnel in Kullu district were on Tuesday killed after being buried in an avalanche near Dundi,about 18 km from Manali. They were driving in a Bolero Camper vehicle while on patrol duty between South Portal Site of construction of tunnel and Solang Nullah. The deceased have been identified as driver Nihal Chand of Koksar in Lahaul and Spiti,and Babuli Das,a supervisor from Orissa. They were employees of AFCONS the company that has been engaged by Border Roads Organization (BRO) in construction of the Rohtang tunnel in collaboration with a foreign company.
