Ashok Nanda is new principal of DAV college

Ashok Nanda,head of the Economics department at DAV college Sector 10,took over as the principal of the college on Thursday. With this,the college has got its fourth principal within an year. The officiating principal of the college,Pawan Jain retired on November 30.

According to sources,DAV College Management Committee had earlier approached Ram Mohan Sharma of English department and Pardeep Kumar of Commerce department (who are among the senior-most faculty members) for the position. However,both Sharma and Kumar refused.

Pawan Jain was appointed as the officiating principal on September 29 after Shashi Gupta went on medical leave till his retirement. Gupta had taken over the position in June following B C Josan’s suspension as principal. He will retire in May.
