Ambala: Agitated over their poor result in exams,the students of Government Polytechnic in Ambala City boycotted classes and sought 15 per cent grace marks for failed students. They demanded that the papers of students from computer,mechanical,electrical and civil engineering faculties should be rechecked. The agitating student’s leaders alleged that the results of the polytechnic were poor because the papers were not checked by the examiners but were evaluated from outside.

Tangri embankment to be strengthened,says MC commissioner

Ambala: To save Ambala Cantonment from repeated floods,the embankment on either side of the Tangri river would be strengthened on the recommendations of the Roorki Engineering Institute to control the recurrence of floods caused due to silting. This was conveyed by Ambala Municipal Corporation Commissioner S P Srow to the Haryana BJP Legislature Party Leader. Meanwhile,Srow said Ambala SDM would start sitting in the corporation office at Ambala Sadar office to remove to the problems and grievances of the public. He said that new drain would be dug for de-watering of accumulated water in several colonies behind the BD Floor Mill. The residents have been complaining of the problem for the several years.
