Another blast was reported near a police check post in Amritsar. According to initial reports, the explosion took place at the Fatehgarh Churian police post on the Amritsar bypass. There are no reports of casualties or injuries.

Police are yet to make a statement on the cause and nature of the blast. No organisation has claimed responsibility so far.

The Fatehgarh Churian police post had not been operational for the past few months. Similar blasts have occurred earlier at non-operational police establishments.

The blast was reported after locals in nearby areas heard a loud explosion.

As soon as police received information about the blast, Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, along with other officials, arrived at the scene to assess the situation. He suspected that the blast could have been caused by a grenade but did not confirm anything.

More than 10 such blasts have been reported in Punjab over the past four months.
