Amritsar DC’s teams find teachers,doctors absent from duty,action likely

Seven special teams formed by Deputy Commissioner K S Pannu found large-scale absenteeism in government institutions as many teachers and doctors were found missing from duty in schools and health centres in various parts of the district on Saturday.

Seven special teams formed by Deputy Commissioner K S Pannu found large-scale absenteeism in government institutions as many teachers and doctors were found missing from duty in schools and health centres in various parts of the district on Saturday. He has sent his reports to the departmental heads to take action against them.

He said seven teams conducted surprise raids in different institutions in the far-flung areas of the district. “During the raid at Primary Health Centre,Verka,we found three doctors and five employees absent. In Mudhal village,the veterinary doctor and pharmacist were missing. In addition,four out of eight teachers in the village elementary school were absent,too,” added Pannu.

Both employees at the village anganwadi centre were absent,too,and so were the secretary and salesman of village cooperative society.

Raids were also carried out in Chak Aul,Issapur,Naag New,Naag Kalan,Ajaibwali,Wadala Kalan,Rajdhan,Kohali Sayedpur and Chetanpura villages where several teachers,doctors,veterinarians and anganwadi workers were absent. Pannu said strict action would be taken against all these people,adding that these surprise raids would continue. He said raids would be conducted in Amritsar,too.
