Amarinder swears vengeance upon Akalis

Captain Amarinder Singh said the border districts of the state were facing acute problems which would be addressed when Congress comes to power.

Continuing his tirade against the SAD-BJP government in the state,Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee Chief and former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today said the border districts of the state were facing acute problems which would be addressed when Congress comes to power. He also reiterated that each and every case of excesses and violence against Congress workers by the police at the behest of the Akali leadership during the last four years would be dealt with severely.

Addressing a huge rally in the border district of Tarn Taran, organised by former MP Rana Gurjit Singh,Capt Amarinder Singh said the countdown for the Akalis had already started and their days were numbered,as was proved by the presence of such a massive crowd at the rally. He said he knew that farmers in the border belt were not getting compensation and drugs and lawlessness prevailed all around. He said he would fix the ‘responsibility’ for the ‘reign of terror’ let loose against the Congress workers.

He said the day was not far when the state would witness a change of guard and though their main focus would be the development of the state, they would also like that each and every excess committed by the Akalis was ‘duly paid back’.

“False FIRs have been registered against Congress workers. The policemen have to reply for these atrocities’’,Amarinder said. Rana Gurjit urged the former CM to ensure that the border districts of Punjab get similar concessions as are being provided to the Northeast.

“Today I promise you that the violence and terror let loose on you by the police at the behest of the Akali jathedars will be properly investigated and equally paid back. Each police official found guilty will be brought to book and taught an appropriate lesson,” said Capt Amarinder as the crowed broke into loud applause.

He added that the present government was corrupt and it wasted four precious years in ‘looting’ people.
