Seeking support of the people by invoking these lines of noted Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, ousted Punjab finance minister Manpreet Badal declared on Tuesday that the “rule of individual” would end after 11 months and it would be the rule of law in Punjab.

He was addressing a gathering at the Teachers’ Home in Bathinda as part of his Jago Punjab Yatra. Hitting out at the Congress and the SAD,the rebel Badal blamed both parties for doing nothing for Punjab since Independence.

“Both Congress and SAD never had any concern for Punjab. Had they, things would have been better in Punjab,” Manpreet said, reiterating that the revolution he was ushering in through his Jago Punjab Yatra would rid Punjab of evils like corruption, unemployment, drug addiction and poverty.

“If things continue like this, the day is not far when the Punjab youth will go to work as daily wagers in the industries of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh,” Manpreet warned.

Stating that his March 23 rally would “change the destiny of Punjab”,Manpreet exhorted those present to join the event to create a “New Punjab” if they really cared for the state.
