A Union minister cannot sweet talk: Sarna

Even as Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal reiterated the stand of his government and his party at a press meet in Chandigarh that there was debt waiver offer by the Centre,former Delhi Sikh Gurdawara Management Committee chief Harvinder Singh Sarna chose to disagree.

“A Union minister cannot sweet talk. When a Union minister says something,it holds water and former Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal has proved that there is an offer from the Centre. And why are the Badals trying to create a confusion? In case they are not clear about their own files,they can ask the Centre,” said Sarna.

The younger brother of the present DSGMC president,Paramjit Singh Sarna,was in Ludhiana on Tuesday.

He also demanded a probe into the voter lists prepared for the upcoming SGPC elections,citing a huge number of discrepancies in them.

When asked if his group will support Manpreet Badal and his candidates in these elections,Sarna said: “We are open to it. Our main aim is to support any one and every one who works for the Sikh religion and working for the economic good of Punjabis.”
