A 50-year old man was reportedly found hanging from a ceiling fan at his Sector-45 residence on Tuesday morning. Deceased Ajaib Singh reportedly committed suicide due to a disturbed family life. Singh worked at the State Library,Sector 17,as a book binder.
According to police,Singh was the only bread winner of a family of six, of which two people were mentally challenged. Body of the deceased was handed over to the family members after a post mortem examination was conducted.
Police officials said,Wife of the deceased noticed that he was not in his room and later found him hanging in another room. She raised an alarm,following which her sons informed the police.
Police claimed that no suicide note was recovered from the spot,but Singhs family told the police that he had been depressed for the past few days. A police official said,Singhs two elder brothers had died some time back. Following their death,he went into depression and isolated himself from his family members.
Singh is survived by his wife,a daughter,two sons and a younger brother.
In another incident,a 35-year-old man,who worked as a domestic help,was reportedly found dead at his residence in Khuda Lahora on Tuesday. In the suicide note,deceased Sunil has allegedly blamed his wife and brother-in-law for his death.
Police officials said that a case of abetment to suicide has been registered against the wife of the deceased and brother-in-law. Sunil was being harassed by his wife and brother-in-law to commit suicide,as his wife wanted to marry someone else,police added.
