35 hired,job fest brings back optimism at PU

The job fest at Panjab University kicked off with a bang with as many as 35 students getting placed on Saturday while another 180 have been shortlisted for a final interview on Sunday.

The job fest at Panjab University kicked off with a bang with as many as 35 students getting placed on Saturday while another 180 have been shortlisted for a final interview on Sunday.

Meanwhile,Quark had visited the campus on Friday and had hired around 40 students. The different companies which came today included Tech Mahindra,Sherwood School,Sigma,Tricolite,Coke,knack.com,NIIT,Pitronics,Altrust,Kapsons,Tiger Wealth Services,Grewal Eye Hospital,Bharti,Dr Reddy’s and Sri Ram Health Care. The fest was organised by the placement cell. “The recession is definitely over and the same can be seen by the number of companies approaching us for placement. Both the vice-chancellor as well as Dean Student Welfare Prof Naval Kishore have been a pillar of support for the fest,” said SOPU president Harsh Vardhan Singh Jhinjha. The job fest comes as a breather as students were widely protesting against the inadequate placements. Panjab University Campus Student Council president Amit Bhatia had suggested some steps for the efficient working of placement cells of various departments.
