A 28-year-old woman,a resident of Kharar,was allegedly abducted,drugged and raped in wrongful confinement for six days. The victim was picked from Manimajra before being confined to a room where she was repeatedly raped at knife-point under duress,the police were told.
In her complaint to Kharar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raj Balwinder Singh Marar,the victim,a mother of three,said she had gone to Manimajra on January 4 to see a doctor. While returning home,two women and a man,whom she knew,offered her lift in their Maruti car.
The women,the victim told the police,offered her something following which she fell unconscious. She later found herself in a room at an unknown location.
She alleged that the accused,the car driver,threatened her with consequences if she raised an alarm. After raping her for six days,the accused deserted at Gobindgarh village near Bhadson.
The DSP told Newsline that an inquiry has been marked into the matter and that the Kharar city Station House Officer (SHO) has been asked to investigate. We will initiate appropriate action after verifying the facts of the complaint, assured DSP.
Kharar SHO Sub-Inspector Atul Soni,meanwhile,said he has not yet received the complaint.
