A 25-year-old youth died when his motorcycle skidded on the road near Mauli Jagran last night.

A 25-year-old youth died when his motorcycle skidded on the road near Mauli Jagran last night. The victim,Vijay Bhatt,received severe head injuries and was declared dead on arrival at hospital.

A resident of Baltana,the victim was working with the Cafe Coffee Day (CCD). He was on his way back home after finishing his shift around 11 pm.

According to the police,the victim was at a breakneck speed and his bike slipped on the road where pavement block was being constructed. He was wearing a helmet.

He was working as a caterer with the Coffee Day for quite some time and originally hails from district Garhwal in Dehradun. His post mortem will be conducted tomorrow and the body will be handed over to relatives.

Residents of the area alleged that the accident took place due to sheer negligence the contractor as the bike slipped on the under construction road. They demanded police action against him.

SHO,Manimajra police station,Inspector Rajesh Shukla when contacted said they have inspected the road and the contractor is not at fault as the road was already repaired. He dies as his bike slipped resulting which he received a head injury, said Shukla.
