22-yr-old dies after his motorbike collides with tractor trolley

A 22-year-old youth died in a road accident when his motorbike collided with a tractor trolley near Chandigarh-Zirakpur barrier on Friday.

A 22-year-old youth died in a road accident when his motorbike collided with a tractor trolley near Chandigarh-Zirakpur barrier on Friday. The incident took place around 6 pm. Sunny,a resident of Sector 29,was driving his motorbike parallel to the tractor when it collided with the rear wheel of the tractor. Despite wearing a helmet,the motorcyclist sustained severe head injuries and was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32,Chandigarh,where he was declared brought dead. The driver of the tractor trolley,Mohinder Singh,a resident of Dera Bassi,was arrested but was later released on bail. A case has been registered against him under sections 279,337 of the Indian Penal Code.

While speaking to the Chandigarh Newsline,Assistant Sub-Inspector Ashok Tuli said,The mishap took place on a busy road,and the passers-by did not have the courtesy to get him aid. A lady and two Central Reserved Police Force jawans took the victim to the hospital in her car.

Taxi stand contractor ‘attacked’ at ISBT-43

CHANDIGARH: Manjit Singh Lovely,a contractor of a taxi stand at Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT),Sector 43,was allegedly attacked by around eight people with sharp-edged weapons on Friday night. Lovely claimed that he was attacked by the same people last week,but the police did not take any action. He is currently admitted to GMSH,Sector 16. Lovely said,I was hit by around eight people after I had complained to the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking authorities about the illegal bus service the gang was running. I had even identified them in front of the authorities.

Clash at Grain Market-26 leaves one injured

CHANDIGARH: High drama was witnessed at Grain Market,Sector 26,on Saturday when three people allegedly beat up an accountant,Irshad Ahmed,of shop number 2. According to the police,Saleem,commission agent of shop number 2 owed money to one of the accused,Vaibhav.

Vaibhav along with his companions went to Saleems shop and demanded money from Irshad,Saleems accountant. Very soon their heated argument turned into a brawl,following which Irshad was injured. The accused include Vaibhav,Amandeep and Amandeeps Brother.

Sub-Inspector Satguru,Investigating Officer (IO) of the case said,Both parties were injured in the clash. Complainant Irshad was admitted to Government Multi Speciality Hospital,Sector 16,while medical check-up of the accused was also done. Doctors ensured that there was nothing serious,but the formal reports of Irshad are yet to be received.

While talking to the Chandigarh Newsline,Irshad said,I was beaten badly with sticks and bricks and the accused also took away a sum of Rs 18,000 from my pocket. Both the parties reached a compromise in the evening.
