Police have arrested two people for alleged snatching and recovered 20 mobile phones from their possession late on Wednesday. The accused were identified as Aman Khan (21) and Shavan Khan (19), residents of Shamli in Uttar Pradesh. Crime Branch Inspector Ashok Kumar arrested the two from near Maloya. The police said that they were going to sell the cell phones when they were apprehended on secret information. Their frisking led the recovery of cell phones. Police said that the two accused have snatched two cell phones recently. During the interrogation, the police found that both the accused used to steal motorcycles and commit snatching, house theft on those stolen bikes. The later abandoned those vehicles. They used to sell the snatched/ stolen mobile phones to passersby and labour class at cheaper rates and purchased drug from that money, the police added. According to the police, they had admitted stealing and snatching of more than 100 mobile phones. Both the accused were remanded in one-day police custody on Thursday. ENS
