Eleven children and three women fell seriously ill at Niamiwala village near Kotkapura on Wednesday after consuming panjeeri served to them as midday meal at their anganwadi. The condition of two of them is said to be critical. Faridkot ADC Mohan Lal said after visiting the angadwadi,The women and children have been sent to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College for treatment. Their condition as of now is said to be serious,but things are under control. Some children took this panjeeri to their homes,where family members too ate it and fell ill. Village sarpanch Jagdev Singh said,The moment we came to know that some children in the village were vomiting and complaining of stomach aches we rushed them to the hospital. The panjeeri samples have been sealed and sent for testing.
