“We registered the case on Sunday and arrested the accused persons on Monday,” the official said. According to police the Naga couple and their friend were rebuked by the group of four youths for allegedly driving dangerously on the roads near Hesarghatta.

This lead to a heated argument between the two groups and resulted in a physical fight, police said. The group of youths allegedly fled the scene after attacking the Naga couple and their friend who were outnumbered. The Naga couple subsequently approached the police about the incident. The Doddabelavengala police nabbed all four accused persons and seized their SUV.

“The incident did not involve racial abuse,” a police officer said.
