Three youths who allegedly raped a 14 year-old-girl at an under construction site in South Bangalore on Wednesday evening were arrested by the police on Thursday. [related-post] The girl had been lured by one of the youths who was acquainted with her. The accused were identified as Assaye, 19 and his friends Santosh, 21 and Ajay, 20. The accused have been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. “The preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was known to the main accused person Assaye,” police commissioner MN Reddi said. The girl, a school dropout, was living with her grandmother. According to the police she was lured by her friend Assaye to an under construction site around 9 pm on Wednesday evening. Two friends of the main accused joined them at the spot and allegedly raped the girl. The victim returned home and informed her grandmother. The preliminary police investigation has confirmed a case of gang rape.
