Man killed for not returning mobile phone in Bengaluru, 3 held

Farooq's brother Shabbir Ahmed had filed a missing complaint at Sampigehalli police station, and a probe revealed the involvement of the accused.

The Bengaluru police on Tuesday arrested three persons who allegedly killed a man for not returning a mobile phone.

The arrested persons were identified as Sohail Khan, Mubarak and Ali Akram, all residents of Bengaluru. On 17 September, the accused had stabbed Farooq Khan to death.

According to a police officer, Farooq had lent Rs 10,000 to Sohail Khan, who did not return the money. When he failed to repay on time, Farooq took away his mobile phone and threatened that if he failed to pay the money, he would go to the police.

Sohail requested Farooq to return the mobile phone, but to no avail. On 17 September, the trio asked Farooq to meet at Arkavathy Layout to talk about the matter and then attacked him with knives. When Farooq tried to defend himself, they slit his throat.
