The Karnataka Lokayukta on Thursday is conducting extensive raids linked to 11 disproportionate assets (DA) cases across nine districts in the state, officials said.
The operation targets several high-ranking officials allegedly involved in amassing wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.
Around 100 Lokayukta officers are carrying out searches at 56 locations in various districts, including Davanagere, Chitradurga, Kolar, Mandya, Kalaburagi, Mysore, Hassan, Belagavi, and Dharwad.
Among those under scrutiny are Basavaraj Magi, a revenue officer at Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Kengeri zone; Shivaraju S, a retired executive engineer from the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Division in Mandya district; M Ravindra, a retired chief engineer from the Minor Irrigation Department in Bengaluru; Shekar Gowda, a project director and Mahadev Bannur, an assistant executive engineer; D H Umesh, executive engineer and M S Prabhakar, Davanagere assistant executive engineer.
The crackdown extends to Kolar, where Vijianna, a tahsildar, is being investigated. Raids are also underway in Mysore against Mahesh K, a superintendent engineer, N M Jagadish, a Grade-1 secretary in Hassan, K G Jagdish, superintendent engineer in Chitradurga.
