Karnataka Lok Ayukta police unearth Rs 8.4 crore in raids on 6 govt officials

Police raided 20 different premises across the state to unearth illegal assets over Rs 8.4 crores.

The Karnataka state Lok Ayukta police on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids on six government officials at 20 different premises across the state to unearth illegal assets to the tune of over Rs 8.4 crores. The raids were conducted after cases were registered under the provision of the Prevention of Corruption Act on the basis of information collected by Lok Ayukta officials.

The details of the officials who were raided are as follows:

MG Srinivasamurthy, Account Superintendent, BDA, Bangalore: His total asset and expenditure was found to be Rs 3.09 crore against an estimated income of Rs 1.1 crore.

Shashikanth, Range Forest Officer, Bidar: His total asset and expenditure was Rs1.48 crore against an estimated income of Rs 33.5 lakh.

Dr N Karunakar, Medical Officer, Mysore: His total asset and expenditure was Rs 4.65 crore against an income of Rs 2.37 crore.

Mohammad Haji, AEE, City Corporation, Kalburgi: His total asset and expenditure was Rs 1.27 crore against an income of Rs 37.7 lakh.

DB Lingannaiah, Project Director, DC office, Mysore: His total asset and expenditure was Rs 1.39 crore against an income of Rs 66 lakh.

S Parvathamma, Office Manager, City Corporation Mysore: Her total asset and expenditure was Rs 2.16 crore against an income of Rs77 lakh.
