Karnataka HC asks actor Ganesh to reply to forest department notice on property in eco-sensitive zone within a week

The actor had approached the high court against the notice from the regional commissioner of the Bandipur Ecosensitive Zone Monitoring Committee that had been issued to him regarding the use of earthmoving equipment on his property in the Gundlupet taluk of the Chamarajanagar district, in the vicinity of Bandipur.

The notice directed Ganesh to stop construction activities on his property measuring 1 acre and 24 guntas and provide all relevant documents. He obtained permission in March for temporary residential structures and fencing off the property.

The range forest officer stated that earthmoving equipment was being used to level the ground to begin construction activities that would violate an undertaking the actor had previously provided while obtaining permission.

Ganesh argued that there was no construction activity on his property except the fencing of the boundary along with columns for a temporary residential structure. He also argued that the earthmoving equipment was used only to level land as he intended to plant trees and plants on the property.
