(Representational/File) The Karnataka education department has shut down a school in Bengaluru and shifted around 140 students after the owner-principal was arrested for allegedly raping a Class 2 student on the premises.
Officials said the school was being run illegally, having obtained permission in Koramangala but was constructed in another part of the city. The Block Education Officer issued closure orders as it flouted rules.
Around 140 students have been admitted to nearby schools at government-set fees. Parents and staff did not object to the move, sources said.
