Bengaluru home guard arrested for misbehaving with women after posing as crime branch official
The Bengaluru police say the home guard had extorted money from a friend of one of the complainants a few months ago.

The Bengaluru police have arrested a 40-year-old home guard for allegedly posing as a crime branch officer and misbehaving with three women college students at MSR Nagar in the northern part of the city.
According to the police, Suresh Kumar, a resident of Bengaluru, entered the students’ flat on the night of January 31 claiming that local residents had complained about public nuisance.
Suspecting foul play, the students sought help from their friends, who detained him and took him to the Sadashivanagar police station.
The police confirmed that Kumar was assigned to supervise MSR Nagar. They said he had entered the same house a few months ago and extorted money from a friend of one of the complainants.
Kumar was arrested on February 1 on charges of misbehaviour and extortion and produced before a court.
The police have urged residents to report similar incidents by calling the helpline.
