A R Rahman and Ilayaraja to perform at Mysuru Dasara for the first time

(File images) In a historic first, music legends A R Rahman and Ilayaraja are set to perform at the Yuva Dasara event during the Mysuru Dasara celebrations next month.
Film producer Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar will inaugurate Yuva Dasara on October 6, said G Lakshmikanth Reddy, Deputy Commissioner, Mysuru.
The district administration has not only changed the venue from the Maharaja’s College grounds to the Uttanahalli grounds on the outskirts of Mysuru but also introduced entry fees, anticipating more than a lakh visitors for the concerts.
The Yuva Dasara subcommittee announced on Wednesday that special VIP seating arrangements will be available near the stage for Rs 8,000, while tickets for the premium gallery will be priced at Rs 5,000. Previously, access to the premium gallery was granted to those with VIP passes and gold cards.
Tickets will be available on Book My Show and http://www.mysoredasara.gov.in starting Friday, September 27.
Performers scheduled for the event include singer Shreya Ghoshal on October 6, music director Ravi Basrur of KGF fame on October 7, rapper Badshah on October 8, A R Rahman on October 9, and Ilayaraja on October 10.
