Water quality concerns in Mysuru district have been prevailing for some time as the district administration had closed 261 borewells, including 75 in Mysuru city by April following test reports confirmed contamination of water considered to be unfit for human consumption. The borewells were shut after conducting tests of 10,267 borewells between April 2023 and February this year.
