Zakia Jafri, the widow of former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri who was killed in the 2002 Gulberg Society massacre, and social activist Teesta Setalvad have written to BJP leader Arun Jaitley protesting against his reported statement that the allegations against Chief Minister Narendra Modi have been found untrue thrice.

The letter claims that Jaitley, the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, had made the statement during electioneering in Varanasi on February 9.

The letter claimed that the findings of the National Human Rights Commission in 2002 and the Supreme Court remarks in the Best Bakery case in 2004 stated otherwise.

The two requested the BJP leader to refrain from making such “hasty” statements in public.
