Three workers dead, another rescued as concrete blocks collapse at bullet train site in Gujarat’s Anand
The incident took place at 5pm and immediately, teams of the local fire department as well as the police rushed to the spot to begin the rescue operations.

Three workers were killed while another was rescued from under the debris of concrete blocks, which collapsed at the construction site of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor project of the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) at Rajupura village near Vasad in Anand district on Tuesday.
Two workers were earlier rescued from the accident site, before they collapsed.
Officials said the incident occurred when a temporary structure of steel and concrete block being used for well foundation work fell down on which the concrete blocks had been placed collapsed, trapping four workers underneath.
The incident took place at 5pm and immediately, teams of the local fire department as well as the police rushed to the spot to begin the rescue operations.
Two workers were rescued and rushed to a hospital for treatment while the body of one worker was pulled out.
Anand district Superintendent of Police GG Jasani said that the incident occurred at a spot located on the bed of Mahi river.
Jasani said, “The body of one worker has been pulled out and the rescue operation is on to ascertain if more workers are trapped. We believe that a total of four workers had been trapped under the debris, of which, two have been rescued and one has been killed.”
Confirming the accident, NHSRCL said, “Today, at the construction site of the bullet train project at Mahi River (in Anand), labourers were trapped in between concrete blocks.
Rescue operation is in progress using cranes and excavators. One worker has been rescued and has been treated in the hospital.”
