The Kothara police in Kutch arrested the brother and two cousins of a woman in connection with her murder,on Sunday. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Jebunisha Kathbambhan,a married woman,had an affair with a man which her brother Razak Abdula (37) and cousins Haji Miyanji (38) and Urash Miyanji (47) did not approve of. The police had recovered the body from Papdi river on the outskirts of Kothara village on Thursday. The postmortem report revealed that the victim was stabbed several times. The victims husband Ayub had identified the body. On suspicions expressed by his brother-in-law Aslam,Ayub registered a complaint against Abdula (37),Haji (38) and Urash (47). On Sunday,the police arrested the trio and charged them with murder, said the Kothara police. The accused reportedly told that police that on November 23,Jebunisha left her home in Kothara village to move in with Gabha Koli,a resident of Kuwapaddhar village in Abdasa taluka. The three reached Kolis residence,where they beat him up and forced Jebunisha to come with them. Razak drove the vehicle while the two cousins stabbed the victim several times. Later they put the body in a sack and threw it in the river. The accused reportedly also threw the knife used in the crime in the same river,said the police. After disposing of the body,Razak narrated the incident to Aslam and asked him to admit to the crime and save the two cousins. The police said Aslam did not agree to this and after body was recovered,passed on the information to Ayub. The police said they are searching for the murder weapon.
