Vadodara administration to write 7,000 letters to create awareness on polls

The District Administration will write as many as 7,000 letters to different societies in the city to create awareness about how to exercise their franchise for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The District Administration will write as many as 7,000 letters to different societies in the city to create awareness about how to exercise their franchise for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

District Collector Vijay Nehra said the letters will be dispatched by the postal department to societies and representatives of organisations.

The letters will inform the citizens to get all possible information about their respective booths and also the special helpline numbers for election related information.

The special helpline number 2420000 will be open for any queries on all working days. The administration will add10 more telephone lines to the existing five from April 24.

Citizens who do not have voters ID card will be able to cast their vote by producing any of the 13 identity proof as decided by the Election Commission of India,Nehra said.
