Survey to find if anyone still doing manual scavenging in Ahmedabad district
According to the statement, the survey will be conducted for seven days. A person, who is doing manual scavenging work, has to inform concerned urban or rural officials with evidence and details of the place where they are doing such work.

A survey has begun in Ahmedabad district to know if anybody is still indulging in the act of manual scavenging, the office of Ahmedabad collector said on Tuesday.
The statement said that while Ahmedabad district is effectively implementing Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavangers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013, if there is any place in the district where manual scavenging is still going on, then the government has started a survey to prevent such activities, it added.
According to the statement, the survey will be conducted for seven days. A person, who is doing manual scavenging work, has to inform concerned urban or rural officials with evidence and details of the place where they are doing such work.
The purpose of the survey is to free workers from manual scavenging work and not to give them any sort of loan or other assistance, it added.
