Surat bombs recovery case to open on Feb 5

The prosecution is likely to open the case against 52 accused in the 15 cases registered with the Surat police in connection with the recovery of unexploded bombs from the city following the July 26,2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts,on February 5.

The state government has appointed a special court inside the Sabarmati Central Jail for the trial of the Ahmedabad serial blasts and the subsequent recovery of bombs from Surat.

Special Public Prosecutor Mitesh Amin said the Surat police have registered 15 cases and arrested 52 accused in this regard. Fifty of them are accused in the Ahmedabad serial blasts. “We will open the case against the accused on February 5,” Amin said. The trial of the Ahmedabad serial blasts has already begun.
