Gujarat Special Operations Group (SOG) Inspector Ashish Pandya,who had reportedly shot down Tusli Prajapati,and four Rajasthan policemen present during the encounter,are now untraceable. A CID Crime team led by Inspector H B Rajput has been camping at Udaipur since Friday. They are in search of four Rajasthan policemen,who have reportedly gone missing.
The CID Crime has declared Pandya as wanted in the case,said R K Patel,DySP (CID Crime). Pandya was transferred to Rajkot from Ahmedabad in April and was promoted as Inspector. After taking charge on April 12,he worked for two days and has been missing ever since.
Two CID teams have been sent to Rajkot and Bhuj to look for Pandya but there is no trace of him. His house in Bhuj is locked and his mobile phone is switched off for days together, he said.
Meanwhile in Rajasthan,all the four officers Assistant Sub-Inspector Narayan Singh Chauhan and constables Kartar Singh Jat,Yudhvir Singh and Dalpat Singh had gone on leave in March and did not return.
Gujarat CID chief,Additional Director General V V Rabari,has confirmed the development During the encounter,Naryan and Yudhvir,along with Pandya,had reportedly fired at Prajapati with their service revolvers.
Sources at Udaipur police said that all four police officers have not resumed their duty. A police officer said Kartar went on leave on March 11,Yudhvir on April 19 and Dalpat on May 4. According to sources,Circle Inspector Narayan left for Police Training School on April 29.
Udaipur Inspector General of Police (IGP) T L Meena said the four police officers in question are untraceable at the moment. We are trying to find their whereabouts, he added.
Udaipur Superintendent of Police Sanjib Kumar Narzari on Saturday confirmed the presence of the Gujarat CID (Crime) team. A team from Gujarat is here to investigate the case. They have sought our help in tracking down four police personnel from Rajasthan.
When the Gujarat police team visited the homes of the four police personnel,they found them empty. They also checked the records in the Udaipur Jail where Prajapati was an inmate.
The CID team has also sought Prajapatis letter to the court,where he had mentioned a threat perception,besides other records.
