State BJP workers erupt with joy

Firecrackers were burst and sweets distributed at the BJP Gujarat headquarters in Khanpur as the news of Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s anointment as BJP prime ministerial candidate for PM broke on Friday evening.

Top leaders,including state president R C Faldu,MP Purshottam Rupala and several MLAs joined party workers in the celebrations. For the whole day,party office were glued to news channels on a huge projector. The celebrations,however,had begun much before the formal announcement in Delhi was made by BJP president Rajnath Singh. “On behalf of the entire state,we thank the national leadership. This was what the public wanted,” said Faldu. “He is going to be the next PM of India,” said Rupala.
