On V-Day,a 21-year old boy of Surat district attempted suicide by consuming poison,allegedly after his beloved rejected his proposal. The boy is admitted in New Civil hospital and his condition is reported to be critical. As per details,Jitendra Dalpat Patel,a resident of Olpad taluka of Surat district,attempted suicide by consuming poison at his home,on Tuesday. When Dalpat Patel,boys father,returned to his house from the agricultural fields,he found Jitendra lying unconscious in the bed following which he took him to a nearby private hospital for treatment. From there he was shifted to New Civil hospital in Surat where his condition was reported to be critical. The Olpad police have started investigating the case. Police said that Jitendra was allegedly in love with a girl residing in a neighbouring village. The girl used to visit her relatives in Jitendras village regularly from where she came in contact of Jitendra. Both of them had became friends,a few months ago. On Tuesday,she had come to visit her relatives when Jitendra allegedly proposed to her. Her rejection is stated as the alleged cause of Jitendras suicide attempt. He came to his house in the afternoon and consumed poison,said Police Inspector N S Chaudhary of Olpad police station. We took his family members statements to know the reason behind his attempted suicide.,Chaudhary added.
