The Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Thursday once again recorded statement of former Gujarat Home Minister Gordhan Zadafia in connection with a 2002 riot case. This is the fourth time he has given statement to the SIT. SIT members A K Malhotra and Paramvir Singh where present during recording of the statement of Zadafia. "I was called by the SIT members so I went there," Zadafia said,adding,"Whenever they call,I will go and cooperate with them." His statement was earlier recorded about a month ago by the SIT officials in connection with a complaint by Zakia Jaffri. Zakia,wife of slain former MP Ehsan Jaffri who was killed during the 2002 riots in Gulberg Society along with 68 others,has alleged that Chief Minister Narendra Modi,his cabinet colleagues of 2002,police officials and senior bureaucrats aided and abetted the post-Godhra riots. Zadafia's name appears in the list of 62 accused named in Zakia's complaint. The apex court had ordered the SIT to probe her complaint and furnish report by December 31.
