IPS officer Geetha Johri on Tuesday turned down CBIs offer to videograph her questioning in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. This was her fourth appearence in connection with the case.
She has alleged in a curative petition to the Supreme Court that CBI was pressurising her to testify against former junior Home Minister Amit Shah in the case. Johri has also taken up the matter of her alleged harassment by CBI with the agency director,Gujarat DGP and the National Human Rights Commission.
CBI questioned Johri for six hours on Tuesday, from 10:30am to 4:45pm. The agency has sought answers to the reported political pressure she faced while investigating the encounter case as a state CID officer in 2005.
CBI officials said Johri was told that her questioning could be videographed,if she felt she was being harassed,to which the IPS officer said she didnt want it to be recorded.
They said Johri refused to answer questions on Tuesday saying her petition is pending in the Supreme Court,in which she has asked the court to expunge remarks against her, which it had observed while transferring the case to CBI.
