Robbers make off with Rs 1.5 crore

In a sensational incident,unidentified men barged into residence of one Shaku Patel in Atladra area and looted Rs 1.5 crore after making her unconscious on Friday afternoon. Police said three unidentified persons rang the doorbell of Patel’s house on the first floor of Millennium Apartment around 3.30 pm. As soon as Patel (50),who was alone at home,opened the door,the robbers threw some chemical-treated cloth over her face and made her unconscious.

The three men then ran away with the cash kept in box which was put on a shelf,Old Padra police said.

City Police Commissioner Satish Sharma later visited the house.

The family had recently sold a piece of land and received the cash as part of the deal.

Sources said the Patels are close relatives of the owners of city-based Sandeshra Group.
