Retired KK hired by Modi as his top secretary

A day after retiring as additional chief secretary in the CMO,Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s close confidant Kuniyil Kailashnathan,popularly called KK,was on Saturday appointed as chief principal secretary to the CM,a post specially created for him.

According to an official release,Kailashnathan will hold his new job for two years,till June 2015. K K takes charge of his new office immediately.

The release did not specify terms of his new appointment.

Officials said the CM was entitled to two advisers and KK was being hired for one of these positions. As per rules,he should be getting 60 per cent of the salary he last drew,besides his pension,they said. Modi’s other favourite bureaucrat,Achal Kumar Joti,who retired as chief secretary in December last,has been appointed as vigilance commissioner.
