After vowing a no-confidence motion against Bhatol, directors abstain from meeting to discuss it With the rebels failing to attend Saturdays meeting called to discuss the no-confidence notice,Parthi Bhatol will continue as chairman of ths Rs 8,000-crore Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation(GCMMF). Though all rebels, including Mehsana Dairy chairman Vipul Chaudhary,Kaira dairy chairman Ramsinh Parmar and Valsad dairy chairman Moghabhai Desai, were present at the GCMMF headquarters at Anand where the meeting was to be held, they did not attend the meeting that was convened to discuss the no-confidence motion brought by them seeking removal of Bhatol. The absence of those who had moved the no-confidence motion and their failure to discuss the issue at the meeting means existing chairman Parthi Bhatol will continue to hold the post, said a senior official at GCMMF. Asked about their failure to attend the meeting to discuss no-confidence motion moved by him and other rebels,Kaira union chairman and Congress MLA Ramsinh Parmar said: We decided to abstain from the meeting in the interest of the milk producers and Amul, the topmost milk brand of the country. Bhatol welcomed the decision of the rebels not to discuss the no-confidence motion and allow the present dispensation in GCMMF to continue. He said differences of opinion must be there but the organisation was bigger than individuals and above their personal ambitions. All directors of GCMMF are responsible persons and the decision they have taken by not pressing to discuss the no-confidence motion is in favour of 30 lakh milk producers of the state, said Bhatol. Bhatol said he wanted all the directors to work together to promote Amul brand further and earn more profit for the GCMMF and the milk producers.
