The heavy rainfall also brought about a considerable dip in temperatures. The maximum temperature in the city recorded as low as 9-10 degree Celsius below normal. Though the city did not witness much rain this week, the meteorological departments expects renewed monsoon activity by the end of the next week.

“This monsoon, not only Ahmedabad, but almost the entire state received good rainfall. The two marked activities responsible for good rainfall in the region include off shore trough and upper air cyclonic circulation. Though these two activities, currently in a passing phase over the state, will bring light showers in city and across the state, while another similar activity is expected to be formed in a week time,” said Jayanta Sarkar,IMD regional director of Ahmedabad.
