Quality Improvement Programme: College teachers to benefit from initiative

The Gujarat Technical Education Department on Friday launched the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) for teachers at engineering, pharmacy, and polytechnic government institutes.

Higher and Technical Education Minister Rushikesh Patel on Friday announced the initiative, stating that teachers in the government engineering, pharmacy, and polytechnic colleges will be able to avail the benefit of higher studies.

Teachers in 16 engineering, three pharmacy, and 31 polytechnic colleges in the state will get opportunities to pursue higher studies in renowned technical institutes of the country like the Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology, Patel stated.

The Minister added that this decision will prove to be significant in the long term as more than 78,000 students studying in the institutes of the state will benefit from the quality education.

He said that there will be increased interest in research and innovation among faculty and students.
